My Name is Justine, and I am also Addicted to Products!!!!

If you have read Rebecca's post -- you will realize that we are just crazy about products!  All products:  skin care, lotions, cosmetics, hair care -- you name it - we love them!!!  I have been crazy about makeup since I was a little girl and my older cousins would play "dress-up" on me when they babysat.  I loved it when they came over and I always volunteered to be the model for them to practice on.  My mom wouldn't let me wear any makeup or products until I was in 6th grade.  My first products were Lip Smackers and Love's Baby Soft perfume, and I was hooked.  In junior high I was allowed to start wearing blush and mascara.  By high school I was wearing EVERYTHING I could find.

Like Rebecca, I read and re-read magazines to soak up everything I could about makeup and skincare.  I too started out with Noxzema and Oil of Olay lotion (because my mom used them) luckily my skin didn't really break out much, except on my forehead (from too much hairspray).....which I discovered could easily be cleared up by sleeping with a headband on to keep my hair off of my skin (a practice I still use today).

After college I worked at Nordstrom's Department store where I was introduced to the wonders of the makeup counters!  I tried all of the lines; my favorites were MAC and Shiseido.  I ended up choosing Shiseido products for my skin care regime.  I loved the way my skin looked and felt after using the entire skincare line.  I am a firm believer of using the entire system together - rather than picking & choosing from multiple lines for different skin care products.  I am also a believer of using my discount to purchase products.  When I worked for Nordstrom, I had a 33% discount - so I never paid full price.  I eventually left Nordstrom and went to work at Target.  While Target was still part of the Dayton/Hudson group I received a discount at Daytons and continued to make all of my skincare purchases with Shiseido.  A few years ago, Target employees lost our extra discounts --- but, I still kept using the Shiseido skincare line - I just paid full price (which I hated!).

I tried the Arbonne skincare products about 1 year ago - and I didn't see a big difference in my skin after 15 years of using Shiseido products and the previous Nutrimin C-RE9 products.  My friend, Laura asked me to give Arbonne another try when the new RE9-Advanced products launched in March.  The NEW RE9 Advanced products are phenomenal.  I could see immediate differences in the look and feel of my skin within 24 hours.  I was hooked.  I also became an Arbonne Independent Consultant where I have learned the importance of knowing the ingredients in your products....and botanical is better.  And the best part, I get all of my products for a discounted price!!!

These are my credentials. I hope you enjoy our future posts and come to trust us as your personal Beauty Advisors.

My Name is Rebecca and I'm Addicted to Cosmetics

On the RJ's Beauty Jungle site we are dedicated to helping you navigate the jungle of beauty products out on the market.  My name is Rebecca (the 'R' in RJ's) I have been totally infatuated with beauty products all my life.  As a little girl I remember just looking at my mom's bottle of Cover Girl foundation, smelling it and wondering what it does?  I used to dig through my Grandma's bathroom cabinet looking at all her colorful lipsticks, trying each one one with the door closed and wiping it off before I exited.  I couldn't wait to wear makeup.
As a teenager, I spent my study hall time in the library reading and re-reading teen magazines, specifically about skin care, hair care and make up.  My mother never used any skin products.  She still washes her face with nothing but a warm washcloth.  My Grandma uses Oil of Olay (I still love the scent as it reminds me of my Grandma).  But it was Seventeen and Teen magazines that taught me the absolute importance of taking care of your skin.  Specifically of washing, toning and moisturizing.  Of course I had to beg my dad to buy me these products at Kmart, the only discount store for miles.  I started out with Noxzema, Clearasil and Ponds Cold Cream.
In college I worked at Herbergers Department store where twice a year we would get a 40% discount on anything we wanted.  Most girls spent their discount on shoes, clothes and jewelry.  I spent mine on Estee Lauder skincare and makeup!!  I wanted the best products I could afford on my face...and twice a year I bought it.  I had flawless skin, high pigmented eye-shadows, luxurious lipsticks and a huge bill.
Once I started working full time I tried all sorts of gimmicks, brands, colors, finishes, price-points, etc.  I still pour over beauty books, magazine articles and websites, constantly in search for the next big product or technique.  I get at least three free makeup consultations a year (last year I did MAC, Smashbox and Benefit).  I hold a VIB membership at Sephora and I am now an Arbonne Independent Consultant  where I have learned the importance of knowing the ingredients in your products....and botanical is better.
These are my credentials.  I hope you enjoy our future posts and come to trust as as your personal Beauty Advisors.
